I visit Sal’ often and I am alway pleased great place great food and value service is wonderful! Owner Jeff is a hoot!!!!!

kinda hit and miss. but located next to the historic withrow ballroom so it’s worth a beer and an app. have good food there and had not so good.

We moved about a mile from Sal’s three years ago and used to love to come often for dinner. Over the past several years it has gotten worse and worse to the point that there is no way we will have dinner there. The last visit was for drinks and apps. The beer (Newcastle) was so flat that we had to return it and the BBQ chicken nachos actually had moldy tasting cheese and was awful. The prices are high and the food quality is really poor (we used to love the green beans and even they now taste like they are pre-cooked a week earlier). We would love to be regulars at Sal’s again and hope that they can make the changes required in order to improve their food and get back to the point they were at several years ago.

I went to Sal’s in May on a Monday evening (arrived around 7:15 for dinner). My husband and I went to Sal’s to use a birthday coupon I received in my email. We had a mediocre experience and will not go back.
Our server looked as though she was working the dining room AND bar area, so service was slow. It also appeared there were other servers simply wandering or standing around – perhaps they were on break? Maybe they should be in a break room then…
I got a burger, which was flavorless (if not for my toppings it would have been basically inedible) – the burger was obviously not seasoned, which leads me to agree with other posters that it was a frozen pre-made patty. Shame on Sal’s for that. My husband got a steak and found it acceptable, though nothing to rave about.
The best thing about the meal was the free dessert – we got the homemade fudge brownie which was served warm with ice cream, caramel, and chocolate sauce. Gooey and very chocolaty – it was perfect and definitely the highlight of the meal.

Me and some friends stopped in for Happy Hour and I was very impressed but not surprised at how great the food was. we had appetizers, Won tons, steak bites and the Stuffed mushroom was to die for! Also came back and tried the ginger beans I believe there called and they were awesome. The happy hour prices were great and the owner Mr. Jeff Fusco was charming as ever. Can’t wait to go back.

My daughter @ son-inlaw took us their for our anniversary dinner. Two of us had walleye which was excellent.The men had rib-eye they also were very pleased with the prefect steak.
Service was the excellent…..try it you will like it.

May 6, 2010………Time 7:30 PM, (6) hungry adults, decided to try Sal’s in Withrow, MN. Prompt service, friendly waitress, beverages quickly served. Sharon ordered chicken pasta, barely warm, and far too spicy to eat. Kate ordered hot roast beef sandwich, barely warm, and shredded beef? Kathy ordered hot turkey sandwich, barely warm, but hunger won out vs returning to kitchen. Tom ordered ribs, naked, served tepid, slathered in sauce. I ordered “sunnies”, served barely warm, and way overcooked. Baked potato would not melt butter, green beans while only warm were superb. Majority left still hungry, and very disappointed. Clearly there is a cooking problem based in the kitchen. While apologetic, waitress only comped my “sunnies”. Great atmosphere, tons of potential, was hoping for a good meal, failed miserably, will not return.

My wife and I visited again for the first time in a while. The food and service were as good as ever. Her pork tenderloin and my steak were excellent. I love the green beans. Megan, our server, provided very good service. 4 of 5 stars (Sal’s is a little on the noisy side).

My husband and I went to Sal’s for dinner last night. The service was perfect and the place was really clean. The food prices were a lot higher than I expected and the food was not that good. I got the Monday steak special. I noticed that the steak had been marinated in something that included soy sauce, which I was not happy with. Also, the steak may be on special for 9.99 but if you add mushrooms and onions it tacks on another 5.00. The veggies were good and fresh, probably the best part of the meal. My husband had the burger which was definately a pre-pattied frozen type. Both the steak and burger were ordered at medium-rare, but both barely had a brown edge on them and were quite rare.
We will probably not go back, especially since the prices for what we received in food quality did not match.

I found this place on a motorcycle trip. My wife and I frequent the place about once every month. The BBQ Ribs are exceptional, wife usually gets a steak. The Onion Stacks (appetizer) is good, but really difficult to eat. It is a bit pricey, but almost always has good service, and there isn’t a whole lot for us North Easterners like this.
