I tried the Lechon Asado, which is shredded marinated pork. Muy delicioso! This huge portion of tender flavorful meat came with yuca, rice and black beans. I had never had yuca before (Caribbean root vegetable) and I really didn’t care for the taste.
One of my companions ordered the Ropa Vieja, which is shredded beef stewed in spicy tomato sauce.
Another companion ordered Masitas de Puerco but I forgot to take a photo!
For dessert my companions and I tried the flan and the tres leches cake. The flan was extremely smooth and creamy, heavenly!
The tres leches cake was on the dry side (tres leches should be very, very moist) and was covered in cinnamon. Not the best but not terrible either.
Overall Impression: Nothing special about the atmosphere, but food was pretty good (for Cuban food in Texas!) but pricey.
