Round Rock Donuts was another place I was told to try while in Austin, and I am so glad I did! The inside of the bakery is closed in the evenings, but the drive-thru stays open for several hours. My companions and I were standing outside of the drive-thru looking at the menu when a guy who was working asked to take our order. We explained that we were all from out-of-state and had never tried any of their donuts before, and what he would suggest. He couldn’t believe we had never had a Round Rock Donut before and told us he would be right back. A few minutes later he handed us all a hot, freshly-fried Round Rock donut. HEAVEN!!! It literally melted in my mouth. I ate it too fast to take a photo of it!
Besides having a variety if delicious donuts and pastries, Round Rock Donuts is is also known for its giant Texas Donut, which is equivalent to a dozen donuts. Check out the size of this colossal donut! You may even have seen it on Man Vs. Food
I also ordered a Apple Fritter to-go, and it was wonderful as well!
Service was wonderful, we loved our complimentary donuts.
Overall Impression: The fresh, hot Round Rock Donuts are amazing. In fact, Round Rock Donuts are so good they put Dunkin Donuts and Krispy Kreme to shame. A must try if you are ever near Austin or Round Rock and are a fan of donuts!
