What we ordered: My companion and I started with the Seafood Cheese Puffs, beautiful wontons fried and wrapped around a semi-sweet cream cheese and crab mixture. There were only four in the order but they were big and thick and easy to tear into smaller bites. Especially good when dipped in the sweet and sour sauce that was served on the side.
We also ordered the General Tso’s Chicken. These large chunks of white-meat chicken were lightly breaded, fried and then cooked in the spicy-sweet General Tso’s sauce. I loved the chicken and highly recommend it if you like flavor! It wasn’t too spicy but had a bit of a kick to it, yet had a hint of sweetness as well. Mmmm!
We also ordered the Pad Thai noodles, which happen to be one of my favorite foods. Golden Wok’s version is as authentic as any I have eaten at various Thai restaurants, with pan fried rice noodles tossed with thinly sliced pieces of chicken, bean sprouts, slivers of carrots, green onions, onions, egg, and crushed peanuts. The dish was very mild and since I prefer it on the spicy side, I asked for a side of chili oil which spiced it up perfectly to my taste.
The third entree we shared was the Shrimp Supreme, a mix of shrimp sauteed with onions, carrots, celery mushrooms, snow peas, and baby corn in a light wine sauce. Another tasty dish! The sauce and the ingredients were on the mild side but it tasted distinctly Chinese.
Overall Impression: We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered at Golden Wok. The quality of the meat and vegetables was top-notch and our service was really good as well. I would highly recommend the General Tso’s chicken and the Pad Thai!
