Rudy’s has counter-service where you place and receive your order. I admitted to the staff that I had never eaten at Rudy’s before and they did an excellent job of explaining each item on the menu and even let me try samples. There are two types of beef brisket, moist and lean. One bite of the moist brisket and I knew there would be no other choice but that for me.

What I ordered: The Moist Beef Brisket is truly the best I have ever had! It is marbled with fat which gives it such incredible flavor and tenderness. It melted in my mouth with every bite! I had really wanted french fries and was disappointed to learn they do not have them at Rudy’s. Instead I got the new potatoes which are baby reds baked in butter. Quite good (but would be even better if they were seasoned with dill and baked with fresh grated parmesan cheese like my mom makes!). Served with plain white bread. The barbeque sauce at Rudy’s is a traditional red barbeque.

Overall Impression: The Moist Beef Brisket at Rudy’s is Hand-down the best brisket in Texas!!! (If only they carried a sauce like the Salt Lick (my favorite sauce!) I would maybe eat there 4 days a week)
