Atmosphere: Chinatown restaurant is located in a residential looking building on the corner of Greystone Drive and the frontage road to Mopac. The upper level of the restaurant is home to Chinatown, the lower level is home to Mushashino Sushi.
The predominant feature of Chinatown is its red interior; with red walls and red table cloths offset by black blinds and black accessories. There is also a wall that doubles as a wine rack, giving the restaurant a sophisticated feel.
What we ordered: My companion and I had actually intended to have sushi at Musashino which is downstairs from Chinatown , however they do not open until 5:30pm. Chinatown was open so we decided to have dinner there instead. We started with an order of pan-fried pork dumplings. The order came with six large dumplings fried to a crispy golden brown and stuffed full of pork, onion and other seasonings. Delicious!
For my entree I ordered the Sesame Chicken. This dish came with a generous helping of chicken pieces breaded and deep-dried and then coated with the spicy-sweet sesame sauce. Excellent!
My companion ordered the Jalapeno Scallops. This was a very spicy dish of sea scallops that were sauteed with jalapenos, onions and black beans. Steamed broccoli lined the plate and helped to reduce the heat radiating from the jalapenos. Very good but definitely spicy!
Overall Impression: Even though we had originally intended to eat at Musashino instead of Chinatown, we were very happy with our food and the service. Prices seemed slightly high for Chinese cuisine but the quality of the meat was above the standard. Bonus: You can also order sushi from Musashino from the Chinatown menu (as long as Musashino is open!)
