Atmosphere: Vino 100 is found in a strip mall next to Target off IH-35 and Louis Henna (southeast corner). The space is modestly sized, with a bar serving as the focal point of the room and smaller tables placed on either side. All of the walls are lined with decorative shelving that serves as home to the many bottles of wine.

What we ordered: I had the sauce-less lasagna, which is a rich, heavenly creation. I am a big fan of sauce and wasn’t sure if I would enjoy a lasagna without it, but it was so good I didn’t even miss it! The Vino 100 Round Rock version includes layers of lasagna, finely ground Italian sausage, pancetta, sun-dried tomato, and a blend of creamed goat cheese and ricotta. The blend of flavors came together very nicely and was a delight to my palette. I may or may not have begged the owner/cook to share the recipe with me! The portion was huge, baked in a square dish (about 5″x5″) and served with a thick slice of Italian garlic toast. More than enough food for one! Of course I tend to over do it sometimes.

One of my companions had the Traditional Mac N Cheese, which is a far cry from the Kraft Mac that we all grew up on. This tasty version is a blend of four different cheeses, bites of Black Forrest ham, herbs and bowtie pasta. A flavorful smoked gruyere cheese on top is baked to a bubbly brown and served with garlic toast. Delish!

Another companion ordered the Gorgonzola and Truffle Oil Mac N Cheese. Another rich and delicious creation that consists of bowtie pasta cooked in a creamy, piquant sauce. Gorgonzola and truffle oil, who knew they would go so well together?! A glass of red wine goes perfectly with this.

Another companion ordered the Beef Quesadilla, with spicy seasoned ground beef and cheese baked inside flour tortillas. Tasty, but I definitely would recommend one of the pastas at Vino 100 first!

One of my companions also ordered a dessert, the S’More, which consisted of Graham Cracker, Marshmallow and Nutella. I didn;t try this but it looked very good!

Overall Impression: Vino 100 is a great place to hang out and have a glass of wine (or a whole bottle!), whether you are with friends or on a date. The dinner menu is limited but the food is excellent. At least 1-2 Tuesdays every month are Teacher Appreciation Nights where teachers can get 25% off food and 10% off wine. What a deal for those wonderful people who educate our children :) Vino 100 Round Rock also offers a monthly Wine Club, and Special Event Dinners (with wine pairings) every few months.
